What I'm loving Wednesday

Visit Jamie @ This kind of love!

1. I am loving that tomorrow is Thanksgiving. I love my family and can't wait to see them. I am the most excited about the actual food! Grandma is back to making her cornbread dressing (I've had to make it the past few years because she hasn't been able to make it to dinner), Mom is making broccoli casserole and I am on dessert duty.

2. I am loving that my new KitchenAid mixer is coming today! It was my "Get well soon, just because I love you" present from Patrick and I can't hardly wait to get home and open it!

^^^Isn't it beautiful!!!^^^

3. I am loving all of the desserts I am making tonight. I may be up all night but they are going to be Gooooooooooooooooooooood!

Red Lobster Garlic Rolls..

Tonight we had some of our friends over for dinner. Patrick grilled steaks, hotdogs and veggies while Chelsea and I made homemade mashed potato's and cheesy garlic rolls (yes.. the Red Lobster kind). I found the recipe on pinterest. The rolls were amazing so I thought I would share the recipe..

Prep time 10 min
Cook time 20 min
Ingredients:
1 pack bisquick
1 1/2cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp oregano
3/4 tsp garlic salt

1. Preheat the oven to 400.

2. Put biscuit mix, cheese and milk in a bowl and mix well.
It should form a doughy mixture.
 3. Using a spoon (or ice cream scoop) drop lumps of dough on to a greased cookie sheet.
Space them out about 1 1/2 inches apart.
4. Bake for 10 min.

5. While they are baking, melt the butter, add the oregano and garlic salt.

6. After the biscuits are done pour the butter mixture over the biscuits and put them back in the oven for 5 min.

7. After 5 min, turn the oven down to 350 and bake for 5 more min.

Makes 12 rolls. Enjoy! :)

The Real Chow Baby...

Patrick and I have been going to The Real Chow Baby in Atlanta for almost a year now. We had heard of this place from a friend and decided to try it out during the great "Snowpocalypse of 2011". We were on our way to The Fox in Atl and Chow Baby was about the only thing open! Since then we have probably been 50 times. Everyone is always asking us what it is and what kind of food, so I decided to dedicate a blog to it!

Basically its a stir fry bar/buffet. All you can eat for $12.99! Its called Asian Fusion.
Located @ 1016 Howell Mill Rd, Suite A, Atlanta, GA
1st you write your name on your paddle. This tells them what table you are at and who you are.
There are all kinds of fun recipes on the wall. You can use one of theirs or create your own!
Now you grab (one) black bowl.
There are all sorts of things you can do.. Make it into a soup, wrap, salad, add shrimp or their amazing bread!
Choose your rice..
All sorts of noodles!
They have every type of vegetable you could want! Just pile it high. }The key is to keep smashing everything to make room for more{
They have everything from black beans to pineapple.
Next you choose your sauce(s). They have over 20 different kinds. You can mix and match or just use one. I recommend using at least four spoonfuls of sauce.
Next you take your red protein bowl.
They have 5-7 types of meat. You add it to your red bowl..
Next you add your spices.. Anything from curry to lime juice!
Now place your bowls on the counter and they'll cook it up on their Mongolian Grill!
5-10 min (depending on how busy they are) and Voila!
Typically people make 2 trips during their dinner.. Patrick has been up there 5 times before. lol
If you're looking for something different Chow Baby is definitely the place for you!

Cheesy Black-Eyed Pea Chicken Chili

Tonight I decided to try something new for dinner. A friend of mine gave me a new recipe and I have been dying to try it all week! When I got off work I went straight to the grocery store and got everything I needed. I ended up buying too many spices ( I couldn't remember what I did and did not have so I just bought everything) so I over bought by about $10. I bought enough to double the recipe and the total was $32.
All the ingredients together. (I'm a big fan of the off brand!)
Cheesy Black-Eyed Pea Chicken Chili
  • 3 Tbs. Canola Oil
1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breast cut into bite size pieces
1 Tbs. Paula’s House Seasoning (salt, pepper, and garlic powder)
    2 c. chopped white onion
1 c. chopped red bell pepper
    1 Tbs, minced garlic
1 (15 oz) can seasoned black eyed peas
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
    1 c. water
1 (1.25 oz) pk. White chicken chili seasoning
    1 tsp. chili powder
    1 tsp. ground cumin
    ½ tsp. crushed red pepper
1 (8 oz) pk. Velveeta cheese, cubed

Once you bring everything to a boil don't forget to simmer and cover!

Lg. Dutch Oven, heat oil over med-high. Sprinkle chicken with house seasoning. Add to dutch oven, and cook 10 min. (browned) Add onion and red bell pepper, cook 7 min. Add garlic, cook 2 min. Stir in black-eyed peas, diced tomatoes, water, white chicken chili seasoning, chili powder, cumin, and crushed red pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce to low, simmer 20 min. Add Velveeta and stir til melted. Remove from heat.

Garnish with sour cream mix: 2 c. sour cream, ½ c. chopped green onion, and 1 tsp. paprika. Stir together and put on top of each bowl, if desired.

    Voila!

The recipe serves 4 but if you want left overs just double it!
